I want to read...

The Undying by Ronnell Porter
Published: Available Now (Kindle Edition)

"The end was nothing like any one of us could have imagined it would be. Humans, with their obsession with the ultimate and inevitable conclusion of their world, had thought through every destructive doomsday scenario to be imagined. Every scenario but the right one. The end was not quick. The earth was not destroyed by some rogue asteroid, or a collision with a vigilante planet. It was not blasted away by the antimatter of a distant galaxy, and it definitely was not the work of a virus or plague. The end of the world was a slow and gradual death for most of the living creatures on the face of the earth. The aftermath of man’s recklessness left the wounded planet defenseless as its shadows consumed the skies and devoured its atmosphere. It took many lifetimes to watch mother Earth breathe her last, and with her vanished our only source of replenishment. We were forced to starve for eternity. We the immortal, we the undying." Volume 1. THE UNDYING is the tale of Wilhelmina Shepherd's life, from a young, innocent, wild girl growing up in Fremont, LA, to the world's most ruthless murderess. A tragic romance that spans through waging demonic wars to the extinction of mankind and beyond, The Undying is the tale of one demon's life until the end of the world

I believe this is an indie published paranormal book. I am intrigued with the plot. Pretty cover too, hey?  I love the vines, thought that was a tattoo at first look. I bumped into this book at goodreads and has a pretty decent rating so It's in my soon-to-grab booklist.

Unearthly (Book 1) by Cynthia Hand
Published Date: January 4, 2011 Available Now

In the beginning, there's a boy standing in the trees . . . .

Clara Gardner has recently learned that she's part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn't easy.
Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place—and out of place at the same time. Because there's another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara's less angelic side.
As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she'd have to make—between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?
Unearthly is a moving tale of love and fate, and the struggle between following the rules and following your heart.

Gosh, that dress is beautiful! Anyway, I want to read this one very soon. i think the plot is as beautiful as its cover. A character with half human half angel is simply irresistable right? like Meridian, it could be really really good. What do you think? Cant wait to get this book!)
